You will be expected to produce an 8 page comic with the following elements:
Our objectives for this week are as follows: Monday - Create your teams - each team should have at least 4 to 5 members. Once teams are created - put your team name and each members' name onto the form below: A description of each of the job responsibilities can be downloaded by clicking on this link.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Create your story Once each team is established, team members need to meet to come up with a basic storyline. The storyline should be finished by Wednesday and a final script with basic drawings should be done by Friday. These documents must be completed before camera work begins. Download these documents to help you complete this task: The second quarter ends on January 23 of this month and now is a good time to remind all of you how important it is for you to document the work you're doing in this class every week. The reasons why every artist should be developing a serious portfolio are the following:
Happy New Year everyone! It appears that the Mayans were incorrect in their calculations and that's fine with me. I'm looking forward to all that 2013 brings and the second half of the school year. Before we started the winter break, I was amazed at the designs all of you came up with on the accordion books. If you didn't get a chance to print and bind your book, please finish it up by this Friday! We need to start improving our skills in two areas in the coming weeks:
Since this is a short week we'll be working on some techniques in Photoshop using the tutorials listed below:
I'd like to see everyone create at least four to five of these images by end of class on Friday and post them as a slide show to your portfolio. If you're adventurous you can try out the Comic Book Action above, but you'll have to figure out how to use actions in Photoshop. Next week, we're going to be working on the Photo skills part of this assignment and starting to create our stories. Make sure you have the techniques above mastered by the end of this week! |
