QR Codes in our Commercial Art Program
This year, we have launched two initiatives that allow us to design with QR (Quick Response) Codes. Two senior students are creating a QR Code Tour of several technical areas in our school. Using their smart phones, visitors will be able to hear multi-media presentations featuring current students speaking about their career choices, the program they are enrolled in at CAT Pickering and what future plans they have.
In our second project, we are using QR Codes to create an Interactive Media page that will extend our schools' yearbook to include events such as the Prom, Senior Awards Banquets, the yearbook Dedication and our Class of 2011 graduation ceremony. A senior student is creating media for each of these events as part of his senior graduation project. As far as we can determine, we are the first high school in the United States to attempt this type of technology use in a yearbook.
