Another valuable resource is this simulator site - if you can't get your hands on one of our cameras this CameraSim site is a great way to learn HOW to use your DLSR camera.
Analog Project for this week: Zentangles
This week, I'd like to see those of you new to our class research and create your own Zentangle. The topic is totally up to you. Here are some samples from past years' students. This week we need to get into full yearbook mode as well as finish out some projects that we've been working on the last few weeks. Here are our goals for this week:
Alexandria has a head start on our cover for this year - it features the use of triangles and informal layout of images inside the number 16. Our plan is to design off of that cover and repeat some of these patterns throughout the book. Dylan created a CTE program header that shows how this might be done. See the images below to see what they have created so far. I've also added a few other images that demonstrate the look we are after. Below are a three tutorials I'd like to see all students work on this week to get the necessary skills to be able to contribute to this year's book. If you find any other tutorials that may help us, please share it by commenting below!
I need a couple of volunteers to compete in this year's PA Computer Fair. Graphic artists have a couple of ways to participate - the details can be found here: http://www.pacomputerfair.org/
There is a logo competition for next year's computer fair and a chance to collaborate with an animal science student on a logo design and a brochure. Please look this over today! Competencies this week: 503 - Demonstrate basic use of page layout software (e.g. Quark, InDesign). 507 - Demonstrate basic use of image editing software (e.g. Photoshop). 607 - Demonstrate basic knowledge of printing processes.
