PETE & C Logo Design Competition: Nick KIer took second prize in last year's competition. This competition has some nice prizes and again a great resume piece for finalists. Great project to be doing while we are working on logo designs.
SURREALISTIC ME: This project's culminating product will be a published book of artwork from students across the globe. The prize here is prestige and an awesome portfolio and resume piece. Plus it's a really cool collaborative project.
This design project asks you to create a simple logo for yourself. Working in Illustrator, you need to create a simple, clean and modern logo. All artwork must be original and incorporate your name. Use the design process for this project. That means you will write a short descriptive paragraph about what traits are your strongest and should be represented in the design; you will be required to create 3 to 5 thumbnail ideas; and then use Illustrator to create a finished logo. Get feedback from your classmates and myself and then re-design based on that feedback.

So far we've taken close to 1000 portrait images of the Class of 2012. Congratulations to the students who have been working so hard on this project - the photos are impressive and well done! The next step is going to require that we all chip in on touching up and airbrushing these images.
