I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday break. The year seems to be rushing by at break-neck speed and I'm thankful for the good work that has been done thus far. This week, we'll be having our SkillsUSA in-lab competition. The competition will be held on Wednesday, and both AM and PM students will be taking part. The winner will be representing our school at District competitions in February.
You are going to be creating a company logo following a design brief that will be given to you on the competition day. Below are the skills you will be asked to demonstrate in the competition:
PETE & C Logo Design Competition: Nick KIer took second prize in last year's competition. This competition has some nice prizes and again a great resume piece for finalists. Great project to be doing while we are working on logo designs.
SURREALISTIC ME: This project's culminating product will be a published book of artwork from students across the globe. The prize here is prestige and an awesome portfolio and resume piece. Plus it's a really cool collaborative project.
Mr. Tucker is in his 22nd year as the instructor for the Graphic Arts program. Prior to his teaching career he worked in the flexography industry for ten years and in quick printing for ten years.
