Design is a problem to be solved will be the theme of this year. I've been collaborating with other teachers of this subject over the summer and this collaboration has resulted in a few new ideas about how to assess your work/efforts in this class. This process could be used for just about any class.
The steps shown below will be our approach for all major projects and we'll be going over strategies for each step of the design process the first few weeks of class. The key component is I really want to see you grow your skills as independent problem-solvers/designers.
The ability to reflect on our work is an important skill and one that I may have neglected in the past. One thing returning students will notice is that you will probably be writing a little more in this class than we have previously. We'll be using forums on this site for much of this writing and the bulk of this will be answering basic questions like
